WHO AM I ?
Self-taught artist, I cultivate all facets of fantastic and esoteric universes.
From a very young age, I spent hours drawing, reproducing photographs or illustrations that came to hand.
Over the years, my passion for illustration grew, leading me, following internships and courses, to explore various artistic genres, from landscapes to portraits, then more dreamlike subjects.
Why the name Mélusine Arwen? Because it is the alliance of medieval fantasy (the legend of Melusine) and contemporary (Tolkien's Lord of the Rings).
Two legendary, mysterious women who transgress the rules of society in the name of love.
They also gave rise toan academic essay by Myriam White Le Goff.
My style
The magic of images
I take you into a paradoxical universe, both dark and very colorful, revisiting myths with a touch of modernity.
Sprinkling natural elements (flowers, animals), goddesses or esoteric symbols into my illustrations, I offer you a real story to decipher, in the vein of the symbolism of Gustave Moreau or Odilon Redon, who are my sources of inspiration.
My techniques are mixed, between drawing, watercolor, ballpoint pen and digital retouching.
It is quite natural that the imagery of Tarots and oracles interests me.
Through illustration, maps tell a story, just like myths, by mixing universal and individual history.
